Track and capture fbclid, _fbc and _fbp in HandL UTM Grabber
UTM attribution overview
This guide explains Track and capture fbclid, _fbc and _fbp in HandL UTM Grabber. It helps you capture Facebook click IDs and conversion attribution data alongside standard UTM parameters and keep the marketing context needed for accurate reporting across forms, bookings, signups, and sales.
fbclid, _fbc and _fbp are tracked automatically
HandL UTM Grabber V3 tracks fbclid, _fbc and _fbp by default. You do not need to add them as custom parameters. If you added them as custom parameters before, you can remove them.
Where the values come from
- fbclid: Meta adds it to the URL when someone clicks your Facebook or Instagram ad.
- _fbc and _fbp: the Meta Pixel sets these cookies. They are only available when the Meta Pixel is installed on your site.
Capture them in your forms
Use the One Click Integration for your form plugin. It adds fbclid, _fbc and _fbp together with all the other tracking fields. To add the fields manually, follow the guide for your form plugin and use the parameter name (for example _fbc) as the field name.
Facebook Conversion API
If you use the Facebook Conversion API feature, UTM Grabber sends _fbc and _fbp to Meta automatically. You do not need to add them to your forms for this.
See Native WP Shortcodes for all the parameters you can capture.
