Disable HandLtestDomainName Cookies - HandL UTM Grabber Guide
UTM attribution overview
This guide explains how to prevent HandL UTM Grabber from setting the internal HandLtestDomainName and HandLtestDomainNameServer cookies by configuring your site domain in the plugin settings.
What are these cookies?
These cookies exist only so the plugin can determine which domain to use when registering UTM cookies. They do not store UTM values, click IDs, or visitor attribution data.
Why do they appear on my site?
When the Domain field is left empty in HandL UTM Grabber settings, the plugin tries to guess your main domain. On some hosting setups (multi-domain sites, reverse proxies, subdirectory installs, or complex cookie scopes), that detection uses these temporary internal cookies.
If you see these cookies in your browser or privacy audit but do not need them, you can stop the plugin from using this detection method.
How to stop these cookies from being set
Set your website domain explicitly in WordPress Admin → HandL UTM Grabber → Settings → Domain. When the domain is configured, the plugin no longer needs to guess it and will not rely on the HandLtestDomainName or HandLtestDomainNameServer cookies.
For example, if your site is www.bcdtravel.com, enter that value (or the root domain your team uses for cookie scope) in the Domain setting.
See our step-by-step guide: Setting domain name - HandL UTM Grabber Guide.
After saving the domain setting, clear your browser cookies (or test in a private window) and confirm the internal test cookies are no longer created.
